RECENTLY-CROWNED PBA Philippine Cup Finals MVP Jericho Cruz is slated to join Guam in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025, but is doubtful to play in the team's first game against Iraq.
Cruz is set to leave for Jeddah on Saturday along with half of his teammates who will be making a layover from Guam to Manila.

Cruz, however, is still dealing with a knee injury that he played through during the all-FIlipino finals.
Guam is playing Iraq on Wednesday then Syria on Saturday (July 9) and Japan on July 10 (Sunday).
"'Yung first game, siguro questionable 'yun. 'Yung second game, I think I'm ready to go. I think lang ah," said Cruz on Friday.
"Hindi ako sure kung makakalaro ako. Ngayon, medyo okay-okay na tuhod ko nang konti. Pakiramdaman ko rin tuhod ko. Ako naman magbibigay ng go-signal sa kanila. 'Pag hindi ko kaya, ayokong maglaro nang walang silbi."
Cruz played in all eight games for Guam in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers where he averaged 10.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. His squad where among the last four teams to book a ticket to the FIBA Asia Cup, securing it during the final qualifying tournament for the continent.
The 34-year-old Cruz will be joining his fellow San Miguel teammates June Mar Fajardo and Cjay Perez in Jeddah after the three recently claimed the Philippine Cup crown. Of course, Fajardo and Perez will play for Gilas Pilipinas, while Cruz will suit up for Guam, having a Guamanian descent.
