JEFF Chan is happy to be back with Gilas Pilipinas following an injury, savoring the positive vibes surrounding the team following the arrival of Andray Blatche and the support shown by NBA player Jordan Clarkson.

Chan showed up for Saturday’s closed-door practice at the Kerry’s Gym inside Shangri-La at the Fort in Taguig City where he joined the team for the first time following a groin injury.

‘’Sa ngayon, okay naman ‘yung groin. Pero actually, shooting lang ako at konting conditioning. Hindi ako sasama sa full practice," said Chan.

Saturday’s practice followed the unveiling of the new Gilas Pilipinas kits made by Nike.

Present during the launch were Clarson and Blatche, who appeared in his first practice for Gilas ahead of the 2016 Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament which Manila will host from July 5-10.

Chan said Clarkson is a source of inspiration despite not being part of the lineup.

"Malaking bagay siya. Isang inspirasyon ‘yun na nakaabot siya sa NBA. Sayang hindi siya kasama. Pero soon siguro," said Chan.

The Rain or Shine shooter also said Blatche is pumped up to join the Philippine squad.

"Kita ko nga na mas maganda katawan niya ngayon. Kinamusta ko siya tapos sabi niya, ‘Let’s get this gold.’ Happy ako kasi ganado siya," said Chan.

With all the positive vibes in the team, Chan hopes to get back to full practice next week.

    "Hopefully, by Monday," said Chan.
