JALEN Green has been named to the 34-man United States pool for the Fiba Under-19 Basketball World Cup 2019 in Greece.
The Fil-Am forward looks set to play another world competition after winning the MVP award in the 2017 Fiba Under-17 World Cup.
Training camp will be held June 15 to 18 at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, with USA head coach Bruce Weber set to announce the final 12 on June 18 before going to Greece on June 24.
The U19 world meet is set June 29 to July 7.
“The (USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee) is excited at the level of talent that will be at training camp for the USA U19 World Cup Team, and we expect to have a difficult decision in trying to narrow down the group to 12 team members,” said committee chairman Matt Painter.
The 17-year-old Green, whose grandmother is Filipina, has been playing high school ball in the United States and has seen action in the Philippines twice in the NBTC.
Aside from high school players, Green will be joined by NCAA freshmen.
The Philippines will also see action in the Under-19 World Cup with Kai Sotto expected to be part of the final roster.
