The match also served as a tribute to longtime Italy player Luigi Datome, who announced his retirement from professional basketball last month.
The Azzurri will head over to Shenzhen where they will play against Brazil and China in the Fiba Solidarity Cup before leaving for Manila for the Fiba Basketball World Cup.

Italy will be one of the foes of Gilas Pilipinas in Group A of the World Cup. They face each other on Aug. 29.
The Azzurri open the tournament against Angola on Aug. 25 at the Philippine Arena.
Gilas Pilipinas faces the Dominican Republic in the opener.
