JAKARTA – Jordan Clarkson was thankful for the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the 18th Asian Games.

Given the opportunity to speak before a crowd of mostly Filipino fans at the GBK Istora following the Philippines’ 109-55 win over Syria, the Fil-American NBA player said it was an honor to fly the Philippine flag for the first time.

“I just want to say thank you for this opportunity to play in the Asian Games," Clarkson said after the 54-point romp that enabled the Philippines to secure fifth place - its best finish in basketball in 16 years.

National coach Yeng Guiao thanked Clarkson for giving his all for the Philippine team.

“It has been a privilege coaching him and I hope he can come back and play for the national team again,” said Guiao.
