GREG Slaughter, Scottie Thompson, and Art Dela Cruz are the last three cuts of Gilas Pilipinas for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games men’s basketball tournament, sources told SPIN.ph on Friday night.
The three Barangay Ginebra players failed to make it to the final 12 following weeks of practice. The decision was made by the Gilas Pilipinas coaching staff led by Tim Cone, who is also the head coach of Ginebra in the PBA.

Making it to the final 12, according to the source, are Stanley Pringle, LA Tenorio, and Japeth Aguilar of Ginebra, June Mar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, and Chris Ross of San Miguel, Troy Rosario and Roger Pogoy of TNT, Christian Standhardinger of NorthPort, Vic Manuel of Alaska, Matthew Wright of Phoenix Pulse, and Kiefer Ravena of NLEX.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) later confirmed the final cuts on its social media pages.

Gilas is the first all-pro team to represent the Philippines in SEA Games basketball, where the country has ruled 17 out of the 19 editions of the biennial meet.
The men’s basketball competition will begin on December 4, with Gilas facing Singapore. They next face Vietnam on December 6 and Myanmar on December 7. All games will be at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Gilas is currently on a break and will resume practice at the end of the quarterfinals of the PBA Governors’ Cup, where the SEA Games preparations will go into high gear.
