GREG Slaughter attended Thursday's practice of the national pool but played it safe by resting a tender ankle he sprained the night before.
The Ginebra big man wore a protective boot and stayed on the sidelines together with JP Erram as they limited themselves as observers on a night when coach Yeng Guiao drew another perfect attendance from his 16-man pool.
Slaughter had a scare after an inadvertent collision with NorthPort's Sean Anthony in the Gin Kings' 104-98 win in the PBA Governors Cup on Wednesday night.
Christian Standhardinger of San Miguel and Scottie Thompson of Ginebra led the practice session as the team continued its buildup for the second round of the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers next week.
Joining them were San Miguel duo of Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter, Magnolia's Paul Lee and Ian Sangalang, Ginebra forward Japeth Aguilar, Rain or Shine troika of Gabe Norwood, Raymond Almazan, and Beau Belga, NLEX center Asi Taulava, Phoenix sniper Matthew Wright, and Blackwater's Allein Maliksi.
NorthPort's Stanley Pringle and Blackwater's Poy Erram joined Slaughter in the sidelines.
Injured San Miguel big man June Mar Fajardo is also expected to observe the practice session.
