NOW, it's the health status of Greg Slaughter that has become a concern for Team Pilipinas for the second round of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

After FIBA approved the 7-foot Barangay Ginebra center's status as a local player, coach Yeng Guiao has raised alarm about the ankle injury that has kept Slaughter from practicing the past two days.

Slaughter on Friday and Saturday watched at the sidelines at the Meralco gym and the FCL Center.

"Ang inaalala ko lang is if he would be in good shape to be able to run up and down and do the physical demands of guarding (Hamed) Haddadi," said Guiao.

"Medyo nawo-worry ako kasi umiika pa siya. It might get a little complicated now dahil hindi na lang yung status niya ang iniintindi natin kundi pati rin yung injury niya," he added after Friday's practice.
