GILAS Pilipinas Youth absorbed an 83-67 loss to Argentina as its woes continued even in the classification phase of the FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Philippines scored its most points in the tournament after losing its first four games by an average margin of 65.5 points.
But it still wasn't close to sufficient as the Filipinos were relegated into a match against Asian rival China on Saturday in the battle for the 13th to 16th places.

China lost to Egypt, 85-73, at the start of its own campaign in the classification phase.
Kurt Velasquez had 17 points, while Bonn Ervin Daja had 15 points and nine rebounds for Gilas Youth, which trailed by as many as 29 points.

Martin Torriani had 15 points, five rebounds, and seven assists for Argentina.
