GILAS Pilipinas Women dropped out of contention for a spot in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 after being at the wrong end of a 105-74 rout by South Korea on Sunday in Lyon-Villeurbanne, France.
The Nationals fell to their fourth straight loss in this qualifying tournament to miss out on the two available tickets to the world meet to be held in Germany.
The Koreans, meantime, secured a slot in the World Cup with the win, together with Nigeria. France and Germany have already booked tickets by virtue of being the Olympic silver medalist and the host country, respectively.
Gilas Women out to salvage a win
The Philippines has one last chance to notch a win in the qualifiers against fellow winless team Colombia on Tuesday.

Kacey Dela Rosa had 26 points and nine rebounds, and Janine Pontejos had 13 points for Gilas Women.
Leeseul Kang, however, knocked down eight threes on her way to 24 points for South Korea.
