GILAS Pilipinas women’s team clinched a berth to the main draw of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup following a sweep of Pool C during the final day of the qualifying draw on Thursday at the Singapore Sports Hub.
Camille Clarin came through with nine points for the Filipina cagebelles in a 21-12 win over Kazakhstan.
It was the third straight win for Gilas women who advanced to the preliminary round and will join no. 3 Mongolia and sixth seed Malaysia.
Mikka Cacho, Kaye Pingol, and Jhazmin Joson each had four points for the Philippine side being coached by Eric Altamirano.
The team previously beat Tahiti, 21-3, and Maldives, 19-11.
Gilas women will play Mongolia first followed by Malaysia on Friday.
