ALL signs point to Quentin Millora-Brown joining Gilas Pilipinas sooner rather than later, as national team head coach Tim Cone said the 6-foot-10 player is nothing but a good fit.
Cone on Saturday said that Millora-Brown would be a great addition to the Philippine team and the former is already thrilled about the possibility of having the latter teamed up with fellow young bigs in Kai Sotto and AJ Edu.

The Nationals' mentor said QMB has the potential to be a game-changer for the program, similar to how Kevin Quiambao contributed during their campaign in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
“He’s a 6-10 KQ in terms of how and what it means to the program,” said Cone in an interview with Noli Eala in his Power and Play program. “Bringing in a big guy like that, he’s basically just what the doctor ordered.”
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas has confirmed that Millora-Brown has been determined as a local by FIBA, following a successful appeal by his lawyers on the initial classification of the former University of the Philippines big as a naturalized player.
“We have a guy to slot in right there. As much as we have this program that we put together, this team that we put together, we have not had Kai and AJ on the team at the same time in practice," said Cone.

"And now, we get the opportunity to have that happen in the near future. Then, you add QMB to that. That’s something that we can really work off. I’m excited about it.”
QMB's place in the triangle
Cone also believes Millora-Brown fits well in Gilas’ triangle offense with his skillset.
“I think he fits tremendously well within our triangle system,” he added of the Fil-American who currently plays for the Macau Black Bears. “And I think he’s really going to enjoy playing that position in the triangle. I think our big men really enjoy being within the triangle.”
Even more, Cone said QMB's formal entry is just the first of a few changes to the Philippine team following its quarterfinal exit in the FIBA Asia Cup.
“Picking up a QMB is like picking up a number one pick in the draft for us. That’s awesome. You’ve got to make room for him. We’re going to look at the lineup and try to make tweaks here and there. Would it be smart to do a wholesale, find eight new guys? No, there are still eight, nine, 10, 11 of these guys are still the best players in the country," he said.
"But there’s definitely some guys out there that might be able to contribute in a bigger role or in a more important role. And these are the things that over the next couple of weeks, we’re going to get together with the SBP and our staff, and discuss. QMB is going to obviously be one of the changes, (and) bringing Kai back into the line-up."
