GILAS Pilipinas coach Yeng Guiao gets his wish as the national team is set to play a two-game tuneup series against Australian club Adelaide 36ers in preparation for the 2019 Fiba World Cup.

Team manager Gabby Cui confirmed the news, with the four-time National Basketball League (NBL) champions flying to the country in August.

The games will be held on August 23 and 25 at Meralco Gym, when the squad returns from its pocket tournament in Spain.

This will be the first time that the Philippine men's national team will face off against an Australian side since the infamous brawl in July last year during the Asian qualifiers.

Guiao has been vocal in his desire to extend an olive branch to Australia as he even sought to have a series of friendlies against the Boomers.
