KEVIN Quiambao and Terrence Fortea came up big for Gilas Pilipinas Mens as the duo drubbed Turkmenistan, 21-16 and earn the top seed in Pool C of the 2019 Fiba 3x3 U-18 Asia Cup Friday in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
The 6-foot-6 Quiambao bullied his way down low and allowed the Philippines grab an early 5-0 lead, but Yevgeniy Nazipov pulled his side back in the game as the Turkmenistanis tied the game at 11.

The sweet-shooting Fortea followed suit, allowing the Filipinos to pull away before icing the game with a pair of freebies with 2:43 remaining.
Fortea pumped 11 points in the win, while Quiambao got eight points.
Gerry Abadiano completed the trio with a pair, as Carl Tamayo once again sat out the match.
The Philippines will progress to the quarterfinals, where top-seed China awaits on Saturday at 3:40 p.m.
Nazipov and Ysmayyl Arazmammedov both scored seven in a losing cause.
The Scores:
PHILIPPINES 21 -- Fortea 11, Quiambao 8, Abadiano 2.
TURKMENISTAN 16 -- Arazmammedov 7, Nazipov 7, Ovezov 2, Hydyrov 0.
