GILAS Pilipinas is expected to finally take on a worthy challenge in its last game in the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (Seaba) Championship against Indonesia on Thursday.
The Indonesians are set to field a full-strength squad in their last two games after naturalized player Jamarr Johnson and Indonesian-American Arki Wisnu finally gained Fiba clearance.
Johnson, who was born and raised in New Jersey, and Wisnu were cleared from claims that they have represented the US in the past in international competitions.
Tournament commissioner Wong Chung Min confirmed the development on Tuesday.
“Indonesia has already received the proper documents that will let the two players play in the tournament,” the commissioner said.
Indonesia, which took a break on Tuesday after going unbeaten in its first four games, will field the two US-born reinforcements on Wednesday against Myanmar before the final game against the Philippines.
