GILAS Pilipinas defeated New Zealand ballclub Franklin Bulls, 94-66, on Tuesday in its final tune-up before Window 3 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers in Auckland.
The Nationals completed a sweep of its tune-up games in the lead-up to their game against New Zealand on July 3 in Auckland.
In its first tune-up game, the Nationals defeated Property Brokers Manawatu Jets, 90-61, last Sunday.
Just like in the first tune-up game, Justin Brownlee was also rested against the Bulls, but is expected to play for Friday’s match against New Zealand.
Mike Phillips also sat out Tuesday’s contest against Franklin after a respectable showing against the Jets.
The Bulls have a Filipino player in their roster in former Far Eastern University Tamaraw Joseph Nunag.
