PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte made the ceremonial toss to start the match between Gilas Pilipinas and France on Wednesday night in the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Duterte took time out from his busy schedule to attend the match between the Philippines and France, his first appearance as president in a sporting event.
Chants of ‘Du-ter-te’ rang at the Mall of Asia Arena as the Philippine president entered the court, even talking to players from both teams.
Duterte’s toss, however, was a bit high, drawing laughs from the packed house at the Mall of Asia Arena.
