GILAS Pilipinas climbed one spot higher at No. 36 in the FIBA Men Rankings after Window 1 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
The Nationals took one level up after sweeping Guam in the Asian Qualifiers in matches held on November 28 and December 1. The Philippines defeated Guam, 87-46, and, 95-71, to open the campaign with two straight wins.
It was the first roll-out of the rankings since it made revisions to how it is being computed.

The Philippines also took the spot of Cote d’Ivoire, which dropped to three places as it didn’t play in the Window 1 of the qualifiers.
The Nationals’ next games are against New Zealand on February 26 and Australia on March 1, with both matches being held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Australia is at No. 6 with its rankings unchanged despite sweeping New Zealand in Window 1.
New Zealand stayed at No. 26 even with the two defeats.
