GILAS Pilipinas held its final practice in Manila on Wednesday before leaving for China for the Fiba Basketball World Cup.
Eleven of the 12 players in the final roster were present during training at the Meralco Gym on Wednesday afternoon.
Aside from practice, the supplies of the players for the World Cup including their jerseys, shoes, and luggage were issued to the team as they leave for Guangzhou on Thursday. They will then take a land travel to Foshan where Group D of the Fiba Basketball World Cup will be staged.
The coaching staff led by head coach Yeng Guiao also watched game film in preparation for their opponents. They will first take on Italy on Saturday, before battling Serbia on September 2 and Angola on September 4.
Present during the last practice in Manila were Andray Blatche, skipper Gabe Norwood, June Mar Fajardo, Troy Rosario, Japeth Aguilar, Raymond Almazan, Kiefer Ravena, RR Pogoy, Mark Barroca, Paul Lee, and Robert Bolick.
CJ Perez was not present due to a pressing matter.
