GILAS Pilipinas ruled the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers 2026 after defeating Indonesia, 88-62, on Saturday at the STI-West Negros University Gym in Bacolod City.
The Philippines swept the five-team competition on Saturday by an average margin of 36.25 points to take the crown in front of the home crowd.
Rhiane Perez was adjudged as the tournament MVP after leading the Gilas girls with 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists in the sweep of the round-robin tournament.
Sophia Dignadice, daughter of PBA legend Yves, had 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals, while US-trained Tifanny Reyes, daughter of former PBA player Jay-R, had 12 points and four rebounds against Indonesia.
The Philippines has already booked a place in the FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup to be played in Malaysia prior to the tournament as it will play in Division A by virtue of ruling the Division B in 2024.
Indonesia will play in Division B by taking the lone place for SEABA in the tournament.
The Philippines began the tournament with a 51-point victory over Vietnam, 93-42, on Tuesday.
The Sandy Arespacochaga-coached Gilas girls also defeated Singapore, 83-53, on Wednesday, and Thailand, 86-48, on Thursday.
