GILAS Pilipinas got smashed by the Korean national team again, 69-42, on Sunday as the national team bound for the Asian Games failed to pick up a win in the Hana Bank Invitational tune-up games in Suwon.

The Philippines scored the first two points of the game courtesy of Sedrick Barefield but gave up 19 consecutive points that led to another blowout loss, five days before starting its Asian Games campaign against Bahrain in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Two free throws by Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser with one second left in the first period made the score 19-4 at the end of the quarter, a huge hole that misfiring Gilas never got out of.

Gilas also lost to South Korea, 81-55, in the first game of the pair of tune-up games by both teams bound for the Asiad.

Yu Ki-Sang, a teammate of Carl Tamayo with the Changwon LG Sakers in the Korean Basketball League, made three consecutive threes during that 19-0 blast by Korea.

Zavier Lucero had 14 points to lead Gilas in scoring followed by Adrian Nocum added nine points for a team that shot only 26 percent from the field.

Compounding the woes of Gilas was the injury to Justin Arana, who rolled his right ankle in the second quarter. Arana walked back to the bench on his own power but never returned to the game.
