FINALLY, Gilas Pilipinas enjoyed a near-complete attendance at Meralco Gym for its last Monday training before flying to Taiwan for the third window of the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers.
Andray Blatche led the 20 men who showed up for the session where he was joined by Jayson Castro, June Mar Fajardo, and team captain Gabe Norwood.
Also present in the training were Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Troy Rosario, Allein Maliksi, Roger Pogoy, Matthew Wright, Jio Jalalon, Carl Bryan Cruz, and Baser Amer.
The only one absent from the seniors team were Japeth Aguilar and Mac Belo, who sat out the session because of a nagging knee injury.
Aguilar was coming off a game with Ginebra in the PBA.
The Philippine national team is set to leave for Chinese-Taipei on June 25 as it prepares for the final window of the first round of the qualifiers for the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China.
Gilas faces Chinese-Taipei on June 29 before going back home to meet Australia on July 2 at Philippine Arena.
Cadets have also made their presence felt in the session, with Asian Games-bound Kobe Paras, Ricci Rivero, and Abu Tratter also part of the training.
The three cadets were earlier named to the Gilas team bound for the Asian Games in Indonesia where they will be joined by Blatche and eight players from PBA side TNT KaTropa.
Vince Tolentino, J-Jay Alejandro, Troy Rike, and Prince Rivero completed the squad.
