THE Gilas Pilipinas team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers defeated the Asian Games-bound squad in their second inter-squad tune-up game on Tuesday.
Kai Sotto was one of the players who led Gilas' FIBA team to the victory, according to a source, as their preparations get in full swing for crunch home qualifiers against Jordan on Friday and Iran on Sunday.

The Gilas all-PBA team that is gearing up for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan beat that squad for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers on Monday morning with Robert Bolick leading the way.
Gilas coach Tim Cone said the Gilas players for the FIBA qualifiers are still re-learning to play with the returning Sotto, who is set to play an integral part with Justin Brownlee out for the coming window due to injuries.

At the same time, the Gilas' Asiad-bound squad led by deputy coach Richard Del Rosario is also deep in its preparations while waiting for Cone and some members of the FIBA team to come in after the qualifiers.
