GILAS Pilipinas cadet Troy Rike was in the middle of the ruckus all right during the Gilas Pilipinas-Australia game on Monday night.
Not as a combatant but as a pacifier.
The newest member of the Gilas cadet pool was seen standing over Chris Goulding as a throng of players, team officials and fans ganged up on the Boomers guard as all hell broke loose at the Philippine Arena.
But before anyone could misinterpret his actions, the Wake Forest standout explained that just like any peacekeeper, he was just out there to protect everyone, may it be a Filipino or an Australian.
"Just before I hear anything about this picture or my character. I was standing over him with both legs to protect him," he posted on his Twitter account. "You can check the footage, I’m actively pushing people off."
Well, chalk that one up as another Gilas player who managed to keep his cool.
