GILAS Pilipinas Youth booked a ticket to the 2023 Fiba Under-16 Asian Championship after beating Thailand, 85-49, in the Seaba qualifiers on Tuesday night in Surabaya, Indonesia.

The Gilas boys picked up their second win in as many outings to clinch one of two spots for Southeast Asia in the Asian competition set September 17-24 in Doha, Qatar.
Kieffer Alas had 18 points, eight rebounds, and five assists for Batang Gilas, who go for the sweep on Wednesday against Indonesia.
Kurt Velasquez scored 12 points, while Joaquin Ludovice had 10 points. Elijah Williams added nine points, while Irus Chua, CJ Amos, and Ziv Espinas each had eight markers.
Bonn Daja was big off the boards after grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds for Gilas Youth, who led by as many as 36 points after outscoring Thailand in the second half, 46-25.
