MALICK Diouf is also up for naturalization.

The former University of the Philippines big man joined Bennie Boatwright on Wednesday in the House of Representatives hearing to start the process of naturalization, as posted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) on its Facebook page.

Also joining the two was Elizabeth Means, who played college ball with Division II team Westminster and is also being naturalized to become part of the Gilas Women squad.

The 6-foot-10 Diouf was part of the UP Maroons team that won the UAAP title in Season 84 in 2022, with the Senegalese star winning the Finals MVP honor. He won the Season MVP award in Season 85 as well but the Maroons lost the championship to Ateneo.

Boatwright, a former San Miguel import who now plays in Taiwan, has finally resumed the process of naturalization for Gilas after the idea was first broached in 2024.
