FORMER PBA import and Japan naturalized player Nick Fazekas tested positive for the coronavirus.
The 35-year-old Fazekas, who suited up for San Miguel Beer in the 2012 Commissioner’s Cup, has been infected with the virus, according to a tweet by Japanese Times sportswriter Kaz Nagatsuka.
Fazekas is currently in the U.S. although Nagatsuka said the symptoms ‘don't seem too bad,’ for the 6-foot-11 shooting big man.
The former Dallas Maverick is a native of Arvada, Colorado.
Fazekas is the 2017 B.League MVP and long-time standout of the Toshiba Kawasaki Brave Thunders.

But before finding a home with the Thunders, Fazekas played for the Beermen (then carrying the Petron banner) in the Commissioner’s Cup eighth years ago.
An explosive scorer with a remarkable shooting range rare for a big man, Fazekas averaged 30.5 points and 18.4 rebounds in seven games for the Boosters. But Petron could only manage a 3-4 record with Fazekas on board, prompting management to ditch him in favor of Will McDonald, who didn’t help the team either as the Boosters were booted out of the playoff picture.
Following his long stint in Japan, Fazekas became a naturalized Japanese last year and helped the national team clinch a spot in the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.
Japan also failed to register a single win in the tournament but finished a notch higher than the Philippines at No. 31 with a lower point difference.
