CHRIS Newsome remains committed to Gilas Pilipinas, showing up in practice on Wednesday amidst reports that he was the last cut for the 2023 Fiba Basketball World Cup.
Newsome was present when Gilas practiced at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on for the first time during their build-up for the Fiba Basketball World Cup on Wednesday night.
The Meralco cager was one of the 13 players who was present on Wednesday along with Jordan Clarkson, team captain Japeth Aguilar, Kai Sotto, Scottie Thompson, June Mar Fajardo, Jamie Malonzo, Dwight Ramos, Kiefer Ravena, CJ Perez, Rhenz Abando, Roger Pogoy, and AJ Edu.

The Gilas coaching staff was unavailable to shed light on the final 12 after the practice, but team manager Butch Antonio is set to submit the roster during the technical meeting late Wednesday night.
Newsome was part of the final cuts, with Bobby Ray Parks Jr., Calvin Oftana, and Thirdy Ravena also not making it to the World Cup roster.
