FIBA has adjusted its competition schedule including that of the Fiba Asia Cup following the decision to postpone the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Following a Central Board meeting recently, Fiba decided to move the Asia Cup to August 17-29. The tournament was originally slated on August 3-15.
The move came after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) reset the staging of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to July 23 to August 8, 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Gilas Pilipinas holds a 1-0 record in the qualifiers after beating Indonesia, 100-70, last February 23 in the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers.

It still has a pending home game against Thailand that was postponed due to the pandemic. A rescheduled date has yet to be confirmed.
The next window is slated in November with Gilas Pilipinas facing Korea on November 27 and Thailand on November 30, both away matches.
Meanwhile, the Fiba AfroBasket 2021 was also shifted from August 17-29 to August 24-September 5 due to the rescheduled Olympics as well.
Also rescheduled by Fiba is the 2021 Eurobasket and 2021 AmeriCup which will be held between September 1-18, 2022.
