THE Philippines ended its FIBA 3x3 World Cup campaign on a high note, dropping winless El Salvador, 21-14, on Wednesday (Manila time) in Nantes, France.
The Filipinos finished with a 2-2 record, beating Romania (21-15) in the opener before dropping consecutive matches against France (11-22) and Slovenia (14-21).
Kobe Paras and JR Quinahan waxed hot from the two point area while also attacking at will to force El Salvador into penalty early.
A lay-up by Jeron Teng gave the Philippines its biggest lead at 18-10 before El Slavador racked up four straight to make the game interesting.
But the Philippines weren't to be denied as Teng responded with a lay-up before Ravena finished things off with a three pointer with a minute and 20 seconds left to spare in the game.
Ravena and Teng starred for the Chooks to Go-backed squad with seven points apiece, Quinahan had four while Paras finished with three.
El Salvador was led by Julio Mancia with five points. The team from Central America dropped all four of its games.
