DE LA Salle defeated Batang Gilas, 124-73, on Monday in a game that saw Ben Mbala match up against Kai Sotto in the Fr. Martin Cup at the San Beda gym.
Mbala finished with 13 points for the Green Archers, who put the game away early against their much-younger rivals to pick up their second victory in the preseason tournament.
Sotto scored nine points for Batang Gilas, who are using the Fr. Martin Cup as a tune-up for the 2017 Seaba Under-16 Championship.
Ricci Rivero tallied 27 points while Abu Tratter added 16 points, including an emphatic slam that led to a three-point play that padded La Salle's lead to 93-49 in the third period.
Mclaude Guadana had 14 points, Terrence Fortea finished with 13 points, while Rence Padrigao added 12 points for Batang Gilas in the 51-point defeat.
