BOCAUE — Rae Lin D’Alie crowned Italy's dream run to the 2018 Fiba 3x3 World Cup with a gold medal by presiding over a 16-12 victory over defending champion Russia on Tuesday night at Philippine Arena here.

The diminutive guard showed her heart in the women’s final, hitting the pull-up jumper that gave the Italians a 16-10 lead in the last two minutes of a fiercely fought final.

“If you don’t dream, then you can’t arrive. I believe in this team. We had a vision. We worked hard all year long, and we got this,” said crowd darling D’Alie, who finished with seven points.

“If you have a dream, go get it.”

Giulia Rulli added four points, while Giulia Ciavarella had three in the triumph.

Anna Leshkovtseva powered top seed Russia’s balanced attack with four points, as Anastasia Logunova and Alexandra Stolyar both had three apiece in the silver medal finish.

France also snared the bronze medal with a 21-14 victory over China in the third-place game.

    The scores:

    ITALY 16 — D’Alie 7, Rulli 4, Ciavarella 3, Filippi 2.
