A HIGH-RANKING official of the Indonesia national basketball team confirmed it is now in the process of naturalizing Denzel Bowles.
Indonesia basketball team manager Fareza Tamrella told Mainbasket Bowles will come to the country in September to join the national squad.
Tamrella confirmed Bowles was recommended by new head coach Rajko Toroman.
“We plan to naturalize Denzel Bowles. His name is recommended by Rajko Toroman,” said Fareza in Indonesian. “Concerning willingness, the player is ready. There is an agreement with Denzel (Bowles) for the naturalization process.”
“At present, we are taking care of the player's documents,” said Fareza.

Bowles’ naturalization should be a boost to Indonesia, which will compete this year in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and in the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers although it is not yet clear whether Bowles will be eligible in time for the SEA Games the country is hosting.
Bowles has played as a PBA import for the Purefoods franchise starting in 2012, and recently played with Rain or Shine in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup before suffering an injury.
