AUSTRALIA leaned on Matthew Dellavedova to beat Canada, 108-92, on Sunday in Group H action in the Fiba Basketball World Cup in Dongguan, China.

Dellavedova finished with 24 points, hitting six three-pointers, most of which came in the fourth quarter that saw the Boomers outscore the Canadians, 32-15.

Canada held a 77-76 lead entering the fourth before Dellavedova led the rally. Australia led by as many as 21 points in the game.

Chris Goulding scored 16 points, and Patty Mills added 15 points and six assists for the Boomers. Joe Ingles scored 13 and Andrew Bogut added 12.

In other matches, Ersan Ilyasova had 19 points and 10 rebounds as Turkey beat Japan, 88-65, in Group E action in Shanghai.

Melih Mahmutoglu also had 17 points for Turkey, which will next face Team USA on Tuesday.

Japanese-American cager Rui Hashimura and Nick Fazekas had 15 points each for Japan.

In Nanjing, Leandro Barbosa scored 22 points as Brazil trounced New Zealand, 102-94, in Group F.

Dominican Republic beat Jordan, 80-76, in Group G held in Shenzhen with Victor Liz scoring 15 points for the winners.
