DAVID Carlos expects fireworks in the dunk contest of the Fiba 3x3 World Cup on on Sunday at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
The Filipino professional dunker will be competing against Guy Dupuy, the champion of Season 1 of TV series Dunk King.
“Last night, I was talking to the dunkers. Apat lang kami. Kanina, nung sinabi nila kung sino ‘yung fifth dunker, I was expecting last year’s champion.
“But nung sinabi nila na Guy Dupuy, sabi ko, man, that’s another animal right there. Siya ang champion ng Dunk King,” said Carlos.
Carlos said he is coming off an injury but vows to to do good especially with Dupuy seeing action.
“I sprained my knee four months ago. I just stuck to my workout and my rehab,” said Carlos.
The Fiba 3x3 World Cup also has a skills contest and shoot-out.
“It’s going to be crazy,” Carlos said, eager to perform in a world event.
“Honesty, my goal is pakita not really just to the home crowd but sa world na aside from basketball, may katulad din tayo sa ibang countries na someone dunking professionally. Wala akong naisip na advantage or disadvantage. I’m just here to put on a show for you guys,” said Carlos.
