ALL is not lost for Justine Baltazar, RJ Abarrientos, and Troy Rosario after being the final cuts of Gilas Pilipinas’ lineup against New Zealand in the second window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
Baltazar and company can still be named in the national team’s next game against Australia since they are part of the 18-man pool initially submitted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas to FIBA prior to the second window.

Also included in the pool but wasn’t around during the training camp leading to the tournament are naturalized player Ange Kouame, Jamie Malonzo, and 7-foot-3 Kai Sotto.
Eventually making the 12-man roster are June Mar Fajardo, AJ Edu, Quentin Millora-Brown, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, CJ Perez, Kevin Quiambao, Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, Scottie Thompson, and naturalized player Justin Brownlee.
Converge rookie guard Juan Gomez De Liano serves as the new face for the team in this coming window.
Cone stressed how difficult it is to trim down the lineup to its final 12 personnel.
“We’ll see how things go. But no matter what happens, the players who don’t make it are still very much a part of the program and part of the pool, and can very well be the next guy up in the next window,” said Cone.
