ZHOU Qi, the 7-foot-2 prospect who played a big role in China's victory over Gilas Pilipinas in the 2015 Fiba Asia final, is set to declare for the NBA rookie draft, according to reports.
The 20-year-old is considered a potential first-round selection in the next NBA draft and is being closely monitored by league executives, according to The Vertical.
Qi averaged 15.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in the last Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season for Xinjiang, where he had Gilas naturalized player Andray Blatche as teammate.
He scored 16 points in China's 78-67 win over Gilas in the 2015 Fiba Asia final in Changsha.
Zhou, listed at 210 pounds, is No. 27 in the latest DraftExpress mock draft.
