BOCAUE — China continued to dominate the 2018 Fiba 3x3 World Cup women’s tournament on Sunday at Philippine Arena, recording the biggest winning margin in this year’s event.
Jiang Jiayin poured nine points as every player in the Chinese team outscored Argentina in the 22-4 decimation as they ruled Pool B with their clean 4-0 card.
Zhang Zhiting added five, as Li Yingyun and Sun Ii got four apiece as they breezed past the group stages and on to the quarterfinals.
France also earned a ticket to the next round after ending their run with a 3-1 card in the same group.
Johanna Tayeau drained the go-ahead two pointer as the French held off a tough stand from Switzerland and take the 21-16 win.
In Pool D, Spain claimed the top spot with a 21-17 victory over the Philippines, even after incurring a slim 13-11 loss to Netherlands.
Hungary also got the second ticket, winning the tiebreak over Netherlands.
The three teams held identical 3-1 records in the group, but Spain (69 points) and Hungary (68) got the nod over the Dutch, which only mustered 64 points.
Philippines finished winless in their campaign but gave its foes everything it could handle in all four games it played.
