GILAS Pilipinas Womens exited the 2019 Fiba Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament winless, losing to China, 127-49, on Sunday at The Trusts Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.
The Chinese started off the game 8-0 and kept the Filipinas scoreless in the first two minutes and 18 seconds to grab a 36-10 opener that set the tone for the game.
It was also the wrong time for the Philippines to shoot sourly, shooting only 3-of-18 from deep for a paltry 16-percent clip, as well as a 25-percent shooting from the field.
China also imposed its might in the paint, hauling down 69 rebounds, 24 on the offensive end, against just 21 in total for Gilas Womens.
Janine Pontejos was the lone bright spot for coach Pat Aquino scoring 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting.
Everyone else just struggled.
Afril Bernardino scored eight on 4-of-15 shooting, while Khate Castillo had seven points on a 1-of-5 clip from threes.

The Philippines bowed out of Pool A winless, failing to progress to the main OQT after missing out on a top two finish in the group.
Han Xu had 26 points on a 10-of-17 shooting, to go with nine rebounds as six others got to double digits for China's first win in three outings.
The Chinese shot 58-percent from the field, including 44-percent from beyond the arc as they enjoyed an 80-point lead, 127-47, late in the game.
