CALVIN Oftana has been ruled out of Gilas Pilipinas’ two games against Guam in Window 1 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers due to a hamstring injury.
Oftana didn’t play for TNT in its out-of-town game in Cagayan de Oro last Saturday, and that will also be the case in the first window of the FIBA qualifiers.

Oftana went to Tuesday’s practice at the Blue Eagle Gym but didn’t participate.
“Calvin is out, he already begged off. He is going to be out, apparently, three to four weeks which takes it past Guam,” said Gilas Pilipinas coach Tim Cone.

“He was here earlier, came by to say hello, but he is out. He is definitely one guy that is going to be out,” said Cone.
Cone said they will not add a player in the pool in lieu of Oftana, and will stick with the 17 remaining players in the pool.
