JUSTIN Brownlee is likely to play Gilas Pilipinas in the two games of the November window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers even with Ange Kouame being recently included in the national team pool.

Gilas coach Tim Cone said Brownlee is still in line to play against New Zealand on November 21 and Hong Kong on November 24 just days from Barangay Ginebra's battle against TNT in the PBA 49th Season Governors’ Cup Finals.

Cone said the main reason why Koaume was included in the pool is to get him accustomed to the Gilas system while also serving as back-up if Brownlee becomes unavailable all of a sudden for the national squad.

Kouame was also included as Gilas also wait for the naturalization process of Bennie Boatwright.

“He (Kouame) will most likely not be in the line-up because we expect Justin to play in both games,” said Cone during a press conference on Wednesday.
