FOR the third time, Ferdinand ‘Bong’ Pascual officiated in a Team USA game in the Fiba Basketball World Cup in China.
The Filipino referee was one of the game officials who worked during the quarterfinal match between USA and France in Dongguan alongside Guilherme Locatelli of Brazil and Georgios Poursanidis of Greece.

Pascual, a 17-year international referee and currently the supervisor of officials in the PBA, officiated USA’s thrilling escape act against Turkey in the first round and a workmanlike win over Greece in the second round.
Unlike in the two previous matches, Team USA lost, 89-79, at the hands of France, which advanced to the semifinals against Argentina.
USA, meanwhile, was relegated to the classification phase with the Americans eyeing a fifth-place finish.
