FERDINAND ‘Bong’ Pascual capped a busy fortnight in the 2019 Fiba Basketball World Cup by officiating the bronze-medal match between France and Australia in Beijing, China on Sunday.
Pascual was one of the three officials who worked the game won by France, 67-59, in the final day of the World Cup in China. He was with Roberto Vazquez of Puerto Rico and Ademir Zurapovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It was the fourth time Pascual worked a Fiba Basketball World Cup, three of which involved Team USA.
Incidentally, two of those games were much talked about.
The first match was Team USA’s slim overtime win over Turkey in the first round. After officiating the USA-Greece match, Pascual also worked as referee in the quarterfinal that saw France oust the Americans.
Aside from being an international referee, Pascual is also the PBA supervisor of officials.
