BENNIE Boatwright’s naturalization was once again deferred as the Senate continued to be buffeted by controversy on Tuesday.

Boatwright was present again together with Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) official Xander Guban for Tuesday’s session only for it to be called off for lack of quorum as the Senate majority bloc was not present for the second straight day.

House Bill No. 6639 that seeks Boatwright’s naturalization was part of Tuesday’s agenda, just like last Monday. The bill could have been passed on third and final reading had a session been held.

The bill is now facing uncertainty as the Senate is scheduled to hold one last session on Wednesday before going on a break until July.
