ROBERT Bolick’s name seems to always come up in discussions about who should be part of Gilas Pilipinas.
The NLEX guard is bound for his second straight national team call-up in a multisport event following the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, where the squad he lovingly described as 'Team C' won gold against host country Thailand.

His strong showing in that SEA Games, as well as his red-hot rise with the Road Warriors have made a case for his inclusion on the Gilas lineups that compete in FIBA tournaments.
And of course, Bolick was the first to admit he aspires to be part of the Philippines' FIBA rosters.
“Siyempre, hindi lang naman siguro ako, pero lahat kami, gusto makasali doon,” Bolick said on Thursday during an online press conference from Suwon, South Korea. “At the same time, hindi namin desisyon ‘yun eh.”
FIBA Berto
Bolick’s last appearance with 'main' Gilas came back in February 27, 2022 against New Zealand during the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian qualifiers, where he also played against India two days prior.

He was likewise part of head coach Yeng Guiao's team for the FIBA WC 2019, where he saw action in five games - giving him a total of seven FIBA outings.

Still, Bolick is grateful for his previous two call-ups, including this recent one for the Asiad in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan where the Filipinos come in as a defending champions.
“Eto ‘yung binigay sa amin. Honored pa rin kami na part kami sa group na ‘to. Sa mga next na liga, hopefully, hindi man ako, ‘yung iba sa mga teammates ko, patawag din, ma-recognize din hard work nila," he said.
“Sana,” he added, talking about a call-up to 'main' Gilas. “Hindi ko alam kung mangyayari, pero kung mangyari, siyempre masaya ako.”
