THE impressive performance of Terrence Jones in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup has spurred calls from fans that the TNT import be naturalized for Gilas Pilipinas.
Jones has been showing his NBA pedigree for the KaTropa. averaging 33.73 points, 16.09 rebounds, and 3.09 blocks to help the flagship franchise of the MVP Group finish the eliminations with a league-best 10-1 win-loss card.
Jones, however, said now is not the time to weigh that possibility since his complete focus is on TNT’s title campaign in the midseason conference.
“I’m not really focused on that. I’m focused on my team right now and trying to focus on getting to the championship,” said the former NBA player.
Jones has so far led TNT to the semifinals with the KaTropa now leading Barangay Ginebra, 2-0, in their best-of-five series.
In Game Two, Jones completed his fourth triple-double of the conference after finishing with 15 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists, while adding two steals and four blocks.
Jones said he intends to finish the conference and see what the future holds.
“Right now, it’s not of my concern. When this is over, and have time to settle down and think about the future, then we and my team, my agent will talk about that,” said Jones.
