ANDRAY Blatche buckled down to work on Monday as he came in an hour early for his first Gilas Pilipinas practice at Meralco Gym.
The naturalized center arrived at 5 p.m., ahead of the 6 p.m. call time for the national men's basketball team preparing for the 2019 Fiba World Cup in China come August.
Blatche arrived in the country on Saturday looking in good shape. His arrival will now allow coach Yeng Guiao to name his 15-man pool for a pocket tournament in Spain as well as the series of tune-up games against Australian side Adelaide 36ers.
The Philippines is slotted in Group C of the World Cup together with Serbia, Italy, and Angola, with all games set to be held in Foshan.
