    Andray Blatche hits ground running in bid to learn Guiao system

    ANDRAY Blatche has hit the ground running as he started his preparations for his return stint with Team Pilipinas in the sixth window of the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers later this month.

    The Syracuse-born naturalized player, who arrived to the country on Friday night, buckled down to work with coach Yeng Guiao on Saturday morning at Meralco Gym in Pasig.

    Though not an official national team practice, Guiao enlisted Rain or Shine players for the session as Gilas staples Gabe Norwood, Raymond Almazan, and Beau Belga extended a helping hand to Blatche in familiarizing him with the new system.

    Team Pilipinas is in a precarious position in the second round of the Asian qualifiers with its 5-5 card ahead of road games in Qatar and Kazakhstan which it must steep to have a puncher's chance at advancing to the World Cup in China in August.
