ANDRAY Blatche is ready to don the national team colors once again.
The naturalized center expressed his intentions to represent the Philippines anew in the next window of the 2019 Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers after serving a three-game suspension for his role in the brawl between members of the Philippine and Australian teams in July.
In a short Instagram post, Blatche wrote: "War ready waiting on that phone call for these two upcoming games."
Blatche, along with Jayson Castro, Terrence Romeo and Troy Rosario, will be available for the December 3 home game against Iran at Mall of Asia Arena.
Blatche averaged 11.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in the first round of the Asian qualifiers.
In Blatche’s absence, Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle were tapped as the naturalized players for the Yeng Guiao-coached Team Pilipinas during the September window in its games against Iran in Tehran and versus Qatar in a closed-door Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Philippines is carrying a 5-3 record in Group F in the second round of the Asian qualifiers and a sweep of this home stand against Kazakhstan on November 30 and Iran on December 3 boosts its chances of clinching a spot in the world basketball tournament in China next year.
