WITH AJ Edu finally here, can Kai Sotto be far behind?

The other half of Gilas Pilipinas' towering frontcourt arrived in the country on Tuesday as the team begins preparations for the Fiba U-19 World Cup in Heraklion, Greece.

The 6-foot-10 Edu came over from UK, where his family is currently based, but he studies at the University of Toledo, an NCAA Division 1 school.

Sotto, the young 7-foot-2 center from Ateneo, meanwhile is set to return from the US on June 8.

While waiting for Sotto, the youth team will start training under coach Sandy Arespacochaga.

After a two-week training, the team leaves for Doha on June 21 where it will put up a training camp and play some tune-up games.

From Qatar, the Filipinos travel to Greece for the June 29 to July 7 competition.

The team is bracketed in tough Group C where it plays the host country right away on opening day.
